The main character from Lost in Austen, speaking about the novel Pride and Prejudice: "I love the love story. I love Elizabeth. I love the manners and language and the courtesy. It's become part of who I am and what I want."
And again: "In my world, Mr Bingley, all I ever do is dream about the loveliness of your world. The stately, elegant rituals and pace of courtship, of love-making as you call it, under the gaze of chaperones, of happiness against all odds."
This is what I want. An old-fashioned love story. I want a man to kiss my hand, to write me letters, to ask me for a dance.
I was ruined by Austen novels.
Ruined is a good word for it ;)
