I spent the entire afternoon lying in my yard, pretending I was in Wonderland. Now I'm sunburned, slightly grass-stained, and I'll probably never get the dirt out from under my fingernails. But I wouldn't take back that afternoon spent under the sun, in a half-asleep daze, with Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland to keep me company.I know it isn't summer yet, but it sure feels like it. This weather is fooling me. Because suddenly, all I want is to eat watermelon until I'm sticky and satisfied, to pluck dandelions until my fingerpads are yellow, to forego shoes for the smoothness of grass leaves under my feet. Blame it on Carroll if you will; I'm craving summer.
I also did some yard work. So I'm not completely useless.
